On March 18, 2025, a meeting titled ‘Geothermal District Heating: A Business Perspective on the Potentials and Needs’ was held in Brussels, co-hosted by Member of the European Parliament Hildegard Bentele and Innargi, represented by CEO Samir Abboud.
The discussions focused on the application of geothermal energy in district heating, the planned revision of the European Union’s Heating and Cooling Strategy, and the legislative perspective of the Parliament and European Council regarding decarbonization at both community and municipal levels. The aim was to develop optimal organizational and business strategies.
In addition to the hosts, attendees included Members of the European Parliament Borys Budka, Niels Fuglsang, Martin Hojsík, and Mirosława Nykiel, Deputy Head of Cabinet of Commisioner for Energy and Housing Wioletta Dunin-Majewska, European Commission Energy Department representative Paula Del Garcia, Mayor of Łódź Hanna Zdanowska, and CEO of Veolia Group in Poland Luiz Hanania.
