On March 28, 2025, the Honorary Consul of Romania in Katowice, Professor Krzysztof Zamasz, participated in a series of meetings concerning Ukraine’s reconstruction prospects in economic, social, and business contexts.


In the morning, WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza Rectoral Authorities: JM Rector Zdzisława Dacko-Pikiewicz, Vice-Rector for Science and Education Prof. Katarzyna Szczepańska-Woszczyna, Vice Rector for Student and Community Relations Prof. Marcin Lis, and Vice Rector for International Relations Dr. Rafał Rębilas, welcomed political and business representatives: Honorary Consul of Romania in Katowice Prof. Krzysztof Zamasz, CEO of Veolia Group in Poland Luiz Hanania, and Prof. Paweł Kowal, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm and Chairman of the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine.
The attendees discussed the development direction of the education sector as a component of Ukraine’s reconstruction and strengthening Polish-Ukrainian relations.

At the office of Silesian Voivodeship Marshal Wojciech Saługa, discussions focused on the region’s role in Ukraine’s reconstruction.The attendees addressed the challenges related to Polish-Ukrainian political and economic cooperation, along with prospects for utilizing Silesian potential in cross-border logistics.
At the meeting, at Marshal Wojciech Saługa’s invitation, the Honorary Consul was accompanied by Luiz Hanania, Paweł Kowal, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine, and Bartłomiej Babuśka, President of the Upper Silesian Fund.

During a substantive debate organized by the Katowice Special Economic Zone titled ‘Invest in the East: Ukraine’s Reconstruction as an Opportunity for Polish Enterprises,’ Krzysztof Zamasz, Paweł Kowal, Bartłomiej Babuśka, and Julia Boguslavska, president of the Ukrainian Foundation in Poland, addressed investment security in Ukraine, cybersecurity, energy security, Ukrainian business situation in the Polish market, education development for management training in European interests, financial support instruments, and international business readiness for sustainable cooperation.
The discussion, moderated by KSEZ (Katowice Special Economic Zone) Vice President Ewa Lipka, was inaugurated with speeches by the Mayor of Tychy Maciej Gramatyka, Dr. Marcin Lis, KSEZ President Rafał Żelazny, and Luiz Hanania.

The Honorary Consul of Romania, Krzysztof Zamasz, emphasized the role of the ‘golden triangle’of business, government and academia as a manifestation of complete synergy in service of Ukraine’s reconstruction and international relations development.
