On January 24, 2025, a New Year’s meeting with Honorary Consuls accredited in Poland took place in the Column Hall of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. The meeting was preceded by a seminar conducted by Ignacy Niemczycki, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, on the subject of Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025. The meeting was officially opened by Paweł Kowal, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. The introductory address was delivered by Radosław Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The speech on security as the main theme of Poland’s presidency in the European Union by Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration and Coordinator of Special Services, was a significant part of the program
The gathering was distinguished by addresses from Monika Wielichowska, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland; Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Maciej Duszczyk, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration.
