On February 5, 2026, the ceremonial opening of the Consulate of the Republic of South Africa in Katowice took place in the Marble Hall of the Silesian Voivodeship Office. Krzysztof Zamasz, Honorary Consul of Romania in Katowice, welcomed Monika Nizioł among the diplomatic corps. Monika Nizioł, Honorary Consul of the Republic of South Africa in Katowice, was designated to the office by Her Excellency Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa to Poland, Nomvula Radebe-Fargo.
