On October 21, the Honorary Consulate of Romania was officially opened in Katowice, with dr. hab Krzysztof Zamasz, a respected academic and business leader, appointed as the new Honorary Consul. This is the 15th honorary consulate in the city, highlighting Katowice’s growing role in diplomatic relations. During his speech, Krzysztof Zamasz emphasized the importance of Polish-Romanian cooperation, especially in business, local government, and academia, envisioning initiatives such as business expansion, student exchanges, and security collaboration. The consulate aims to support Romanian citizens in Poland and foster economic and cultural ties between Poland and Romania.
