On April 11, 2025, a conference titled ‘Energy Challenges of Cities, Building Energy Competencies of Local Government’ was jointly organized by the District Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Katowice Special Economic Zone.
The Honorary Consul of Romania, Professor Krzysztof Zamasz, participated in a panel discussion concerning the role of local government in ensuring energy security for cities and municipalities. The panel, which focused on competencies and solutions necessary for effective business-government cooperation, included other distinguished participants: Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship Wojciech Saługa, Mayor of Tychy Maciej Gramatyka, Chairman of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis Kazimierz Karolczak, and CEO of Tauron Ciepło Aleksander Sobolewski. The debate was held by the renowned architect and politician Olgierd Dziekoński.
Professor Zamasz emphasized that energy transformation is a team endeavor that requires combining the competencies of business, local government, and academia, noting that the ‘golden triangle’ serves as both the method and means for implementing substantial modernization initiatives.
